Asus competes directly with Apple MacBook Air. The new Zenbook Ultrabook.

Eight years since Intel launched Centrino processors for notebooks, the American company introduced the new standard "Ultrabook" - laptops with high autonomy, and similar performance as ultra high-end computers.


The first model in the new generation of Ultrabooks (laptops capable of an autonomy of at least 5-7 hours, able to start a Windows operating system in seconds and with a Intel processor), will compete directly with Apple's new Macbook Air. Moreover, Asus will equip the new Zenbook with Bang & Olufsen speakers for high fidelity sound.

The ultrabooks tablets are undoubtedly the most dynamic segment of IT today. Almost all models launched by the PCs manufacturer will be built on Intel Core i5 architecture of the second generation, under an inch thick and autonomy of 5-7 hours, the difference will be made ​​of materials used, the support offered by each manufacturer and details such as display, keyboard and audio system quality.




Unlike a standard laptop that comes out of stand-by in an interval of at least ten seconds, Zenbook start in two seconds and may be in stand-by for two weeks. Also at the technology chapter, Zenbook comes with SSD storage with SATA III technology, USB 3.0 and processors from the second generation of Intel Core i5 and i7. Furthermore, Zenbook get in the Windows Experience Index (OS benchmark) the score of 5.5 and 5.7 in the basic version in the top, above the average notebook on the market. In addition, with a weight of 1.1 kg at the 11.6 inch version, Zenbook rivals with the tablets.
