Yahoo! phone will be launched next month in Japan

A Yahoo branded phone will be launched next month in Japan, where the American site is among the most accessed, writes TechCrunh. The phone will be launched by SoftBank, the third largest mobile operator in Japan, which is the majority shareholder of Yahoo Japan.

The handset is produced by Sharp and has a 4 inch screen, 8 megapixel camera, Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and memory card slot.

In addition, the phone has e-wallet function, which means it can be used as an electronic wallet. This is not unusual in the Land of the Rising Sun, Japan to pay for purchases using the phone for many years.

The phone is actually a rebranding AQUOS PHONE 009SH model, developed by Sharp and launched by SoftBank Mobile in a few weeks ago.

It is expected that the new Yahoo smartphone users to find specific Android operating system applications, and Japanese popular Yahoo services: Japan Home, Yahoo Calendar, Japan Auctions, Yahoo Dictionary or Yahoo Loco. Softbank will deliver the Yahoo phone in Japan starting September this year.
